Neuracle Medical Technology’s implantable brain-computer chip just received approval (On March 13th, 2026) for commercial use in China, a world’s first. This brain chip will be used to help with motor control for those suffering from spinal cord injury, similar to it’s counterparts in the west like Elon Musk’s neural link. This brain chip implant, records and decodes neural signals in the patient’s brain after being surgically implanted. China, lacks many legal safeguards against implantable brain chips. It will be interesting to see of there are any safety or privacy issues that arise out of this approval. In addition, the brain chip is the size of a coin, making it hard to detect.
