We are an independent advocacy and watchdog organization committed to supporting patients and consumers with brain–computer interfaces and neural prosthetics while holding companies, developers, and institutions accountable for the safe and ethical use of neurotechnology. Our goal is to compel legislative changes that protect privacy, autonomy and further transparency standards within the field. 

Neurotechnology encompasses a range of devices that record, interact or influence your brain activity. Neurotech includes devices such as brain-computer interfaces (BCI), neural prosthetics, electroencephalograms and more. This technology has seen unprecedented growth in recent years and has been used to help those with neurodegenerative diseases or spinal cord injuries. However, even with their great medical potential to alleviate suffering, these devices are connected to the users in a most intimate way, a direct connection with the brain. This means that your thoughts, decisions, memories, emotions and all other mental states and components are susceptible to the whim of these machines and to those that control them. Thus, it is imperative that there are legal safeguards that protect the people’s fundamental rights of privacy, liberty and autonomy.
